I haven't been able to help Hannover 96 the way I imagined - Kingsley Schindler

In an interview with the sports portal transfermarkt.de, the 27-year-old spoke about his unfortunate time in Hannover and talked about his footballing qualities.

In the summer, Hannover 96 loaned Kingsley Schindler from 1. FC Koln. Hopes that he would be able to help Kenan Kocak's team straight away were high. Now, in February 2021, one has to state that Schindler was unable to meet expectations.

In 22 games for 96, the 27-year-old, who is mostly used on the right-wing, did not score a single time. He only managed one assist - far too little for an offensive player.

"I haven't been able to help the team the way I imagined. Of course, I've played a lot of games. I know what I can do and that I'm a dangerous goalie. But I have the feeling that I'm currently a bit unlucky is, as you have now seen against Dusseldorf," says the ex-Cologne player.

"It's just up to me that I pull myself out of this hole again, keep my head up, stay strong and wait for my chances. Then I'll clean things up again. I am firmly convinced that I can do better than I've shown so far,"

After his weak performance in Dusseldorf, it remains to be seen whether he will get a new chance in the starting line-up against Furth on Saturday. Despite all the negative experiences at 96, the 27-year-old has not yet completely ticked off the promotion. When asked whether the ascent train has finally left, he replied: "I don't think so,"

Last weekend the top teams took points away from each other. Nevertheless, 96 must of course look to itself and deliver the necessary results.

"There are still a lot of games to play. We don't hide from anyone. SC Paderborn did it two years ago. If we deliver our performance, we can still achieve a lot with a strong final spurt. Let's see what comes out in the end," explains Schindler.
