Presently, he plies his trade with Commercial Bank FC in the Ethiopian Premier League.

Despite awaiting his debut invitation to the national team, the center-back remains optimistic.

"I hope I will be called one day. I pray about it all the time. We are all Ghanaians and would like to make the national team better than it is now."

In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Amankwah continued, "I hope the time I get the call-up, we would be able to win a trophy within that period or perform way better than people imagined."

The Black Stars, who haven't secured a trophy in over four decades since their AFCON triumph in 1982, aim to end the drought in the upcoming 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

It's noteworthy that Caleb Amankwah has exclusively represented the local Black Stars, currently known as Black Galaxies.
