Ex-Ghana striker, Kwesi Appiah has said he is hoping to impress in the Indian Super League.

The former Crystal Palace forward joined NorthEast United FC this summer after parting ways with AFC Wimbledon.

Speaking to The News Mill in an interview, the striker said he is hoping to follow the footsteps of Asamoah Gyan at the club with the objective of lifting the flag of Ghana high.

"It’s an amazing link to have, Asamoah Gyan is a Ghanaian icon and legend and I look forward to flying the flag for Ghana here in India this season," he said.

Gyan joined the club after leaving Turkish Super Lig side, Kayserispor in 2019 scoring five goals.
