The Ghana Football Association [GFA] are on the verge of appointing a new trainer following the resignation of Otto Addo.

The 47-year-old Borussia Dortmund talent coach left his role following Ghana's early exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Black Stars recorded a win and suffered two defeats and finished at the bottom of Group H with three points.

With a new trainer set to be appointed, the former Black Satellites trainer says he regrets not applying for the job.

"I regret not applying for the Black Stars job," he said in an interview.

"I am a coach and I am also equally good to coach the team," he added.

Meanwhile, multiple reports in the local media suggest that Chris Hughton has been appointed as the new head coach for the national team.

The Black Stars will regroup in March for their doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers.
