Ghana's second tier competition started well during the 2019/20 campaign but the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic forced the early cancellation of the competition. It affected Star Madrid FC who are part of the teams vying for promotion into the Ghana Premier League.

Tierro stated that the abrupt end of the competition jeopardised a potential move abroad.

"I felt very hurt and worried because our league was off for two years," he stated in an exclusive interview with footballghana.com.
