I was not to blame for Scotland free-kicks says Man City keeper Hart

England and Manchester City keeper Joe Hart insists that he was not at fault for letting in a couple of long-range free kicks from Scotland striker Leigh Griffiths in the World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

With three minutes left in the regular time, the Three Lions had looked set for a 1-0 win at Hampden Park before Griffiths scored two free-kicks within the space of three minutes. The game eventually ended in a 2-2 draw.

"As a goalkeeper, you set your wall up, sometimes there's nothing you can do," Hart said.

"He's produced two bits of quality, they weren't side-foots, sorry they weren't curlers. They were 'heavy' - how I describe shooting, in my boring goalkeeping technical term.

"But he put it over the wall, then picked up pace and you've got to say well done sometimes. And to do it two in however many minutes after having obviously not really a sniff the whole game..."
