The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko has admitted that he is experiencing a rocky relationship between him and the Board Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei.

There have been several reports suggesting that there is bad blood between him and the board chairman.

However, speaking in an interview, the 2019 Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant confirmed the rumoured rocky relationship but reiterated that he still respects Dr Kwame Kyei as the board chairman of the club.

“I don't have any issue with Dr Kwame Kyei. I give him the needed respect and he does the same but the needed relationship that must exist between me and him is not there and I will be surprised if Dr Kwame Kyei has no problem with me,” he told Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio.

“We had a meeting and Ankobeahene said there seem to be a problem between the board chairman and me and he declined that but he eventually spoke.

“Dr Kyei said I have asked Kotoko players not to sleep at his hotel (Sports Hotel) and I explained my reasons and I did not expect that to be an issue.

He further said the management has a good relationship with the Board of Directors of the club.

“We have a very good relationship with the board. You will not get everybody to love you and I understand.

“We are only there to work as a management and a board and we should work and deal with everything professionally,” he added.

Nana Yaw Amponsah was named the CEO of the club under the chairmanship of Dr Kwame Kyei.
