Annor Walker, Accra Great Olympics coach, is looking forward to his new position as head coach of the home-based senior national team, Black Stars B, and he has stated that he will be dedicated to his work.
The experienced coach has been lauded for transforming Olympics into a serious Ghana Premier League title challenger this season, and his selection as Black Stars B head coach last week is seen as a worthy reward for turning around the Wonder Club's fortunes.
Walker, who took over from Ibrahim Tanko after just a year in charge, says he is eager to take on the task of putting his knowledge and wealth of experience to bear on the national team, which is reserved for only home-based players.
“I am very grateful to the Ghana Football Association Executive Council for this opportunity. I will be very committed to the job offered me so that I can provide good service to the nation and leave a legacy that would be cherished by the present and future generations,” Walker told the Graphic Sports.
Since he has competent backroom staff to help him handle the two duties, the coach believes he can successfully manage the Olympics and the national team without one going in the way of the other.
“My job as Technical head of the national team will not interfere with that of Olympics because I have a team of technical men who will assist me to deliver efficiently,"he ended.
