Newly-appointed Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has promised to make the Reds the best club in Ghana, Africa, and the world.

The 43-year-old replaces Portuguese trainer, Mariano Barreto, who mutually parted ways with the club on Friday after just six months in charge of the club.

Ogum joins the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year deal from West Africa Football Academy [WAFA].

"I am awfully grateful for this opportunity to serve such a great club Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Thanks to HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board, Management, and Supporters for reposing trust in me," he wrote on his Twitter page.

"I will do my best to make Kotoko the best club in Ghana, Africa, and the world."

Narteh is expected to name his own backroom staff with the current technical team expected to be dissolved.

He guided WAFA to a third-place finish in the just ended Ghana Premier League season accumulating 56 points in what appears the best season for the academy lads since they joined the premiership.

Prosper Narteh Ogum is a Sports Psychologist and Educationist. He has previously handled UCC Soccer Team, Elmina Sharks, Dwarfs and Karela United.

Dr. Ogum is currently the deputy manager for the Ghana Black Stars B.
