I will forever be grateful to Sekondi Eleven Wise - C.K Akunnor

Current head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Charles Kwablan Akonnor says he will forever be grateful to Sekondi Eleven Wise for giving him the platform at the start of his coaching career.

Akonnor was appointed on February 19, 2009 as the head coach of Sekondi Eleven Wise then Sekondi Wise Fighters where he worked with former national team mate Nii Odartey Lamptey as the assistant coach.

Speaking to Sekondi based Radio Silver, the 47-year old believes he enjoyed his three years stay at the club and will never forget his stints at the team and Western region at large.

” Eleven Wise gave me the first platform in my coaching career and will never forget it”, he said.

” I also enjoyed my stay at the club and Western region at large together with Nii Odartey Lamptey.

Akonnor however urged management of the 1919 side to capitalize on the hundred years anniversary to revamp the team since its current states is hideous.

” I will urge current Management to capitalize on the hundred years celebration to revamp the team because the states of the team now is very bad”, he added.

Eleven Wise attain hundred years today and the official launch of the anniversary has been scheduled for April 9, 2019 in Sekondi. The team have also confirmed to play arch rivals Sekondi Hasaacas in the anniversary cup on Saturday, April 13 at the Gyandu Park in Sekondi.
