I won’t hesitate to relinquish my captaincy to Asamoah Gyan – Fatau Dauda

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has expressed his readiness to give his captain’s armband at Legon Cities FC to new signing Asamoah Gyan.

Last season, the former Black Stars shot-stopper joined the Royals club to give them a squad boost. On his arrival, he was made captain of the team and played a key role in their campaign in the Ghana Premier League.

Ahead of the next football season, Legon Cities FC has bolstered its squad with the signing of Ghana great Asamoah Gyan.

According to Fatau Dauda, he will gladly give his captain’s armband to the legendary striker.

“I will not hesitate to relinquish my captaincy to Asamoah Gyan. I don’t need management of Legon Cities to tell me that, he’s my senior and I need to give him that respect unless he doesn’t want it.

“I will give him the band anytime he’s on the pitch”, Fatau Dauda said in an interview with Oyerepa FM.

Asamoah Gyan is starting training this week with Legon Cities FC and should be ready for action on the opening weekend of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
