Black Meteors of Ghana head coach, Ibrahim Tanko has set sights on winning the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt which takes place between November 8 and 22.

Ghana have drawn in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Cameroon and Mali and Egypt for the competition.

Coach Tanko is confident his team can win the competition and qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

“The group we are in is a tough and attractive one and it is a group of death. I am sure the teams in the other group will say same of theirs. I think the only thing we have to do is to prepare well. I believe in the players that we have and I think that we can overcome the group,” he said to Kwese Free Sports in an interview.

“We have a good chance of winning the tournament. We are one of the favourites. We will go for the trophy but if we do not get that, we will go for silver or bronze to help us to the Olympic Games. This is our mentality heading into the tournament and I am sure will get any one of three medals up for grabs.”
