If it was Bayern or Barca, I\'d be sacked already admits Man City manager Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has admitted he would have been sacked by Barcelona or Bayern Munich if he had underachieved there like he has at Manchester City this season.

Expectations were high when Guardiola arrived for his debut season in England, however the Spaniard has failed to secure a trophy in this campaign – the first time he hasn't won a trophy in a season for his career.

City currenly sit in fourth place on the Premier League table, and Pep will be looking to secure Champions League qualification with wins over West Brom and Watford in the Citizens final two matches.

Speaking before City's clash with the Baggies, Guardiola revealed what would happen if this season had been replicated at his past clubs.

He said; "In my situation at a big club, I'm sacked. I'm out. Sure. Definitely. At the clubs I worked at before, I am not here.

"Yeah, because I have to win. Pressure is what I had when I arrived in Barcelona with nothing to defend myself with.

"At that club, if in six months you don't win, you are really out. At Barcelona or Bayern Munich, there you have to win by far. If not, they don't give you a second chance.

"Here they gave me a second chance and we will try to do it better than this season."

When questioned over the pressure he will face next year, Guardiola did not shy away from the facts.

"If what happens next season is not going well, I'll have one more year of my contract. If it's not going well, they are going to change manager," he added.

"If you want to put pressure on me and say next season we have to win or if not... I knew that before I arrived here.

"I said many times that I have this expectation because of what I have done in the past.

"Some managers will have that pressure so I have to handle that. If not, I go home. I came here to try to win this year and it was not possible."
