I'm better than current Hearts of Oak strikers - Gilbert Fiamenyo

Published on: 15 July 2021

Former striker of Hearts of Oak, Gilbert Fiamenyo believes he is better than the current strikers at the club.

He joined the Phobians in 2012 from Heart of Lions, however, he struggled to make an impact at the club due to persistent injuries and poor form.

"I can play with these current Hearts of Oak players and play even better if not injury crisis, and I will not join Hearts again if being offered to join the club once again because there’s too much pressure in the club," Fiamenyo, he told Angel FM.

The striker also featured for Ghanaian sides Ebusua Dwarfs, and Kenyan side AFC Leopard but is currently unattached.

Hearts of Oak will be crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday, July 17, 2021, after their Matchday 34 tie against WAFA at Sogakope.

The Phobians won their 21st Premier League title on Sunday following a 1-1 draw against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports stadium.

Meanwhile, all match week 34 matches will be played simultaneously at 3:00 pm across all venues, according to the Ghana Football Association.
