Former Hearts of Oak star Dan Quaye has expressed disappointment in Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew for failing to fill in the shoes of Asamoah Gyan.

Ghana is yet to find a replacement for legendary striker Asamoah Gyan who last outfit with the national team came in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Gyan is the all-time topscorer for Ghana with 51 goals and with 6 goals, he is the top African goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup.

In an interview with Sylvester Ntim of Aben FM, Dan Quaye took a swipe at the Crystal Palace attacker as he believes he should have replaced Asamoah Gyan.

“Everyone knows Asamoah Gyan. He is the highest African goal scorer at the World Cup but the player I am most disappointed in is Jordan Ayew because he should be Gyan’s replacement”

“In the absence of Gyan, Jordan should have carried the team on his shoulders but he is unable to that which makes it worrying” he said.
