I'm not in competition with Richard Attah at Hearts of Oak - Richmond Ayi

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi has denied reports that he is in competition with Richard Attah for the number spot at the club.

The 22-year-old was Hearts' first choice before the arrival Attah on a free transfer prior to the start of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

Ayi was displaced by Attah following the Phobians' 3-0 defeat to Medeama SC in match week two of the suspended top-flight.

"I don't think I'm competing with anyone at Hearts of Oak, although I've been on the bench since the arrival of Attah, he was playing week in week out before the league was halted but that is not a problem," Ayi told Wontumi Radio.

"I'm just hoping that I will be selected someday and surely I will deliver too because if he plays and we win it's a success to the team and I will be regarded too."

Richard Attah, the former Elmina Sharks goalie earned his debut call-up to the Black Stars for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
