I’m ready to serve Hearts in any capacity, even if they ask me to paint the secretariat- Neil Armstrong Mortagbe

Former Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe says he is ready to serve the club in any capacity, even if it requires him being a painter for the club.

Mr. Mortagbe was asked to leave the club in 2014 following misunderstanding between him and the owners with regards to the way he handled the team.

Accra Hearts of Oak replaced the astute football administrator with the now Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Vincent Sowah Odotei.

However, because of Hon. Odotei’s new position, he had to make way for the club to be run by someone else, but the Phobians have struggled to find a replacement for the ex-King Faisal Chief Executive Officer.

Many of the club’s fans are calling on Neil Armstrong Mortagbe’s return and the former NCC Chairman says he will gladly return to the club he supports with all his heart.

“Togbe [Afede] gave me a big opportunity to manage such a wonderful club and I must thank him for that, however, things did not go well as planned but it was a great experience in my football administrative career,” he told Happy FM.

“I’m no more at the helm of affairs but I’m still one of the biggest supporters of the club, I’m a true Phobian and I want to take this opportunity to ask for forgiveness from the Phobian fraternity for my unfortunate departure. I’m not enthused with some of the decisions I made during my time but that doesn’t mean all that was said about me is true.”

“I cannot say for now if I will manage the club again but once a Phobian always a Phobian, and even if Hearts want me to paint the secretariat, why not. I’m ready to serve the club in any capacity.”

Accra Hearts of Oak are enjoying a fairly good season in the Ghana Premier League, placed third on the table and stand a chance of winning the title with just four games to end the season.
