In-form Striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom fires Red Star Belgrade to Europa play offs

Free scoring Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom continued with his rich vein of form as he scored again to power Serbian side Red Star Belgarade into the Europa Cup play offs.

The Ghanaian scored the only goal as Red Star Belgrade defeated Spartar Prague 1-0 in theEuropa League third qualifying round second leg on Thursday.

The 24-year-old scored in the 19th minute to help the Serbian giants advance 3-0 on aggregate to the play-off stage.

Boakye-Yioadom, who joined Red Star Belgrade from Italian serie B side Latina, played 80 minutes and was replaced by Aleksandar Pesic.

Boakye has now scored seven goals in eight matches in this season’s qualifiers and will be hoping to propel his side into the group stages as they await their opponent when a draw is held on Friday.
