Former Ghana international, Augustine Ahinful beleives Inaki Williams is struggling to score goals due to a lack of support from Black Stars teammates.
The Athletic Bilbao striker is yet to find the back of the net after nine games played for the senior national team since switching nationality in June last year ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
However, Ahinful, who made 20 appearances for the Black Stars speaking to Graphic Sports implored the technical handlers to consider offering the 29-year-old a different role.
According to the former Borussia Dortmund forward, Williams is being played out of position at the Black Stars compared to how he is deployed at the club side.
“He is not receiving the necessary services in the Black Stars," he said.
"I believe he is being played out of position because in Bilbao he plays from the flanks. He has never been the centre person to strike so the coach should identify where he can play and fit him,” Ahinful added.
Inaki Williams hopes to find the back of the net when the Black Stars take on the USA and Mexico in international friendly games next month.
