Dutch-Ghanaian winger Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere shines in Chinese Super League, earns spot in Team of the Week

Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere's impressive performance for Zhejiang Professional in the Chinese Super League has earned him a well-deserved spot in Sofascore's Chinese Super League Team of the Week.

The midfielder was instrumental in his team's 3-1 victory over Wuhan Three Towns on Tuesday morning, delivering a standout performance.

Owusu-Sekyere, who started the game and played for 86 minutes, scored two goals and provided an assist in a dominant performance by Zhejiang Professional at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center Stadium.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box that found the top right corner of the net. Leonardo provided the assist with a clever pass.

Owusu-Sekyere doubled Zhejiang Professional's lead in the 21st minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box that went into the bottom right corner. Once again, Leonardo was the provider, setting up the Ghanaian with a precise through ball.

Wuhan Three Towns pulled one back in the 23rd minute through Pedro Henrique, who scored with a right-footed shot from the center of the box that went into the bottom right corner. Deng Hanwen provided the assist with a cross.

However, Zhejiang Professional restored their two-goal advantage in the 51st minute, with Leonardo scoring from the right side of the box into the bottom left corner. Owusu-Sekyere turned provider this time, setting up the Brazilian with a clever pass.

The winger has now scored seven goals and provided two assists in 13 games in the 2024 Chinese Super League.
