Egyptian giants Zamalek SC have set sights on securing the services of Medeama defender Abdul Fatawu Hamidu in the ongoing transfer window.
The reigning CAF Confederation Cup holders are in the market searching for quality players to augment their squad for the upcoming campaign.
However, Zamalek are believed to have identified the Yellow and Mauve defender as the perfect left-back to beef up their squad for the 2024/25 season.
The Egyptian outfit are said to have begun talks with the Ghanaian club over a possible transfer of the defender this summer but are yet to reach an agreement.
The 25-year-old has been attracted interested from several clubs following his outstanding performance for club and country.
Hamidu’s impressive performance with the Yellow and Mauve earned him a call up into the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars in September 2023.
He made his debut for the national team against Liberia in an international friendly game in September, where Ghana triumphed 3-1 over their opponent.
The highly-rated defender was a standout for Medeama when they clinched their first-ever Ghana Premier League title during the 2022/23 football season.
