Contrary to reports suggesting that he resigned, Dasoberi stated that he sought permission from Manhyia to pursue a new opportunity with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a Professional Football Manager.

In an interview with Peace FM, monitored by Footballghana.com, Dasoberi expressed his preference for a different term to describe his departure, stating, "I would have liked you to use a different word because I can't resign from the work Otumfuo has given me to do." He emphasized that he requested permission to continue his work elsewhere, rather than resigning from his post.

Dasoberi further explained that his new role with CAF would ultimately benefit Asante Kotoko and Ghanaian football. He stated, "The work I am going to do will bring a lot of things to Kotoko and Ghana." Dasoberi also assured fans that his move is not permanent, adding, "One day, I will return."
