Ghanaian winger Kwadwo Asamoah emerged as the match-winner for FK Panevezys in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Suduva in the Lithuanian TOPsport A League on Thursday evening.

Asamoah started the game and played for 65 minutes, making a significant impact at the MarijampolÄ— Stadium.

Before the clash, the head-to-head record between the two teams stood at six wins for FK Panevezys, 12 wins for Suduva, and four draws. Despite Suduva having more possession throughout the game, FK Panevezys managed to create more scoring opportunities.

The home side dominated the first half, with Jeffrey Sarpong shooting over the goal and Kwadwo Asamoah heading the ball towards the goalkeeper. Matijs Remeikis also had a chance to score from a corner, but his effort was saved. Asamoah had another opportunity before the break, but his shot narrowly missed the post.

FK Panevezys finally broke the deadlock in the 59th minute, capitalizing on a swift counter-attack. Ernesto Veliulis' initial shot was saved by the Suduva goalkeeper, but Kwadwo Asamoah was on hand to convert the rebound and give his team a crucial lead.

Asamoah has featured in eight games and scored one goal in the league this season.
