Zico who led Goa to the semi-finals in 2014 and the finals of the 2015 season struggled to maintain the same intensity this year with his propensity to make news off the pitch, a concern for the club.

Despite not winning a title with Goa, the 63-year-old'stime with the Virat Kohli owned side can be considered a success, as he did help the team establish themselves as a force in the ISL. Zico, in fact signed a new two-year contract at the start of last season, but the team's disastrous performances on the field couple with his temper tantrums resulted in the management, deciding to let go of the Brazilian with the aim of getting someone new to refresh the team.

FC Goa are yet to identify a replacement for the outgoing coach, with the team management reportedly considering a number of options.
