Defender Alexander Djiku will not be available for selection on Friday night when his Racing Strasbourg outfit face-off with Stade Rennes in the French Ligue 1.
The Ghana international was part of the Black Stars team that played a double-header against Sudan in the international break in the qualifiers to the 2020/2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
On his return to Racing Strasbourg, he suffered a contracture in the thigh and hence had to sit out when the team lost 4-3 to Montpellier last weekend.
As his club prepares for their encounter against Stade Rennes on Matchday 12 of the French Ligue 1 season, Alexander Djiku is not expected to recover in time and hence will miss the game alongside Bingourou Kamara.
"It is still too early to say categorically, especially for Bingourou who resumed smoothly, this morning (Monday), specific work with Stéphane Cassard (the goalkeeper coach), For Alex [Djiku], who has not yet been able to resume, it looks more compromised,” Racing Strasbourg sports coordinator Kader Mangane has revealed in an interview.
Meanwhile, Alexander Djuku is hopeful of returning to full fitness in no time.
