Inter Milan star Gabigol has revealed it would be an "honour" to wear the number 10 jersey next season, as reported by Italian news outlet Football ITALIA.

The number is currently vacant at the San Siro after its last owner Stevan Jovetic left the club in Januaryin a loan move to Spanish club Sevilla.

The 20-year-old, whose real name is Gabriel Barbosa, admitted: "It would be an honour to wear the Inter number 10 shirt. I hope I can play a bit more to get into the Brazil team.

My first goal? I'm really happy, I've worked so hard for this. I talked with my friends and they said it could be a special day for me, since I made my debut against Bologna in the first half of the season.

"After I scored - in the stadium where Ronaldo scored his first Inter goal - I celebrated so much with my teammates and the fans.

I didn't feel anything special [before coming on], the truth is I was ready and prepared to play. When you're ready, anything can happen."

The number 10 shirt carries a degree of importance and stature at Inter Milan, and has been worn by the likes of Wesley Sneijder, the Brazilian Ronaldo, and Roberto Baggio.

But the man dubbed "the next Neymar" by sections of the footballing media certainly has the potential to do great things with a great number on his back.
