Ghana Premier League giant, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has drawn goalless with Ivorian Club Société Omnisports de l'Armée in a pre-season friendly match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today.

The two clubs are gearing up towards their participation in the next edition of the CAF Champions League where they are both expected to participate.

In a pulsating encounter at the home of the Porcupine Warriors, both sides played some entertaining football but failed to get on the score sheet. The Kumasi based side had more opportunities in the first half but lacked the men upfront to bang in the goals.

After resuming the second half, new signing Kelvin Andoh created three-straight chances but the strikers failed to make the necessary connection that would have seen them breaking the deadlock.

Société Omnisports de l'Armée showed why they are champions of the Ivorian League later in the second half when they combined good attacking football with some compact defending.

Though they impressed, they also failed to get on the scoresheet and had to settle for the goalless draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

This is the second friendly match Kotoko has played ahead of their opening match in the CAF Champions League. They managed to beat Rahimo Fc in the first warm-up game and will be going into the upcoming season with an unbeaten record in the off-season.

Kotoko will be playing Nigerian side Kano Pillars in the preliminary round of the top-tier inter-club competition. The first leg will be played at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
