Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has admitted that their 5-1 mauling against Medeama SC is a painful one.

The Phobians hosted the Yellow and Mavue in the matchday 31 games at the Accra Sports Stadium.

However, Hearts of Oak were humiliated 5-1 by Medeama.

A Jonathan Sowah brace and other goals from Vincent Atingah, Derrick Fordjour, as well as Kwasi Bonsu, handed Hearts their biggest loss of the 2022/23 season.

According to Opare Addo, the defeat is shocking and painful but urged the fans to be cautious with their utterance.

"It is a painful defeat because we went into the game with a plan and it did not work on the day," he told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"I will urge the fans to stay calm and be cautious with what they say. It is normal for the fans to be angry because that is not what they expected," he added.

The defeat leaves Hearts in the seventh position with eight points behind league leaders Medeama.

Hearts could drop further down should Asante Kotoko pick up a win later on Monday in their game against Kotoku Royals.

Hearts have three more games until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The Phobians will be hosted at El-Wak Stadium by Legon Cities in the matchday 32 games on Saturday.
