‘It is sad, very painful’ – Ghanaians react to Black Stars’ group stage exit from 2021 AFCON

Ghanaians have been left fuming over the exit of the Black Stars from the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The national team of the West African country last Tuesday suffered elimination from the ongoing tournament in Cameroon after a painful 3-2 defeat to Comoros in the final group C game.

With the fans back home left in shock, many have described Ghana’s early AFCON exit as sad, and a disgrace to the country.

This is how CGTN reports on some reactions of Ghanaians after the exit.

Besides the citizenry, the government is also unhappy with the performance of the Black Stars and has recommended to the Ghana FA to sack head coach Milovan Rajevac.

On Wednesday, the Executive Council of the Ghana FA will meet to decide the fate of the technical team of the Black Stars and the future of the national team.
