Ghana international, Joseph Attamah-Lawerh has disclosed that his team lost to a tough opponent on Wednesday when the side played against Trabzonspor.

The defender featured for his Kayserispor outfit on Tuesday when the team played the first leg of the Turkish Cup semi-final away from home.

Courtesy of a late strike from Andreas Cornelius, Trabzonspor secured a 1-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Joseph Attamah-Lawerh who was a bit disappointed indicated that his team could have earned a draw.

“It was a difficult match. We lost 1-0 but we did not concede any more goals. We still have a way to reach the final. We will play at home and do our best and want to reach the final,” the Ghana defender said.

He continued, “When you play against an opponent like Trabzonspor, the level and intensity increases. Today was a match in this Director. We fought well, drew a significant part of the match. We could have left a draw and gained an advantage before the match at home but it did not happen.”

The second leg of the Turkish Cup between Kayserispor and Trabzonspor will be played on May 10, 2022.
