It's a shame we couldn't give amazing fans the three points - Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams on Getafe draw

Ghana striker Inaki Williams is disappointed Athletic Bilbao failed to beat Getafe on match week 10 of the La Liga on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old marked his 350th appearance by scoring a second-minute goal as Bilbao were held to a 2-2 stalemate at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Williams latched onto a precise lofted cross into the box from Ander Herrera and finished with a quick shot into the middle of the goal juts two minutes after kickoff.

"We were punished for our mistakes. It's a shame we couldn't give our fans the three points. We have to be ready for Sunday, it'll be a tough battle against Barca," he said after the game.

The draw extended Athletic’s winless run to four games following their goalless stalemate against Atletico Madrid on Saturday and they have now slipped from third to sixth on the table on 18 points from 10 matches, seven behind leaders Real Madrid, who play Elche on Wednesday.

Williams have made four goals and provided one assist in 10 league appearances for Athletic Bilbao.
