Captain for the South African Banyana Banyanas, Janine Van Wyk has lauded the impressive performance from team members in the 2018 Total Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana.
According to Janine Van, though their plan targeted winning the trophy to make history in Africa and South Africans.But that was not achieved, regardless have fought as warriors.
"All I can say is I am so extremely proud of every team member. We have fought like warriors throughout this tournament.Unfortunately we lossed on Penalties which could've gone either way".
"We came here with a goal to achieve and I can proudly say we have accomplished it!".
South Africa were beaten 4-3 on penalties against Nigeria in the finals of the tournament at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.However, they have secured ticket to France 2019 World Cup, first of it kind.
