Javier Hernandez Happy at Bayer Leverkusen Despite Rumours of a January Exit

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez was once a prized asset at Manchester United, the definition of 'second striker'. Bring him on whenever in need, and the Mexican would respond by bagging the goals.

He now plies his trade at German side Bayer Leverkusen, who are through to the last sixteen in the Champions League. The murmurings from the Leverkusen camp are that they want to push him out in January, but Hernandez thinks differently.

"Why would I like to stay in the Bundesliga? Because I feel good and I'm happy," Hernandez toldbundesliga.com. "I've learned a lot in the Bundesliga, as a player and as a man."

'I like playing in the Champions League, and luckily Bayer have been involved in the last few years. We hope we can achieve that goal again in the second half of the season.'

Hernandez's teammates have been grumbling about the Mexican's poor attitude and unfriendliness towards his teammates, as well as a reluctance to work with the team in general play, as theBildassert.

The forward would be available for £21.5m in this January transfer window, with Tottenham heavily linked. Mauricio Pochettino needs a second striker to back up Harry Kane, and Vincent Janssen is nowhere near the level required.

West Ham are in even more desperate need of a striker, and Manchester United could always submit a bid to bring him back. On the other hand, Hernandez has not scored in three months and has only five goals this season entirely.
