New Dwarfs coach Prosper Nartey says he is ready for the task ahead considering the team’s current position in the league.

The 38-year old succeeds veteran coach JE Sarpong who was asked to leave the club on Monday following their poor showing in the Ghana Premier league.

Dwarfs have managed just two wins this season and lie bottom on the league log with just 9 points.

“I am capable and competent to handle the job and apart from that I am not handling any team now so I had no option to accept the job when I was contacted,” he told Joy FM

"I am ready for the task ahead but it is all about time so when I am giving the time I have no doubt that I will change things for the club.

'Though it is a different platform- I have observed some premier league games and I know how the league is so it is about getting into the mindset of the players and letting them know that we can do it.

Coach Nartey holds a CAF License A coaching certificate as well as Master’s Degree in Physical Education.

He is a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast and also the coach of the school’s football team.
