Jeremie Frimpong missed Leverkusen's friendly against FC Copenhagen due to illness

Jeremie Frimpong was supposed to play in the starting XI for Bayer Leverkusen's practice match against FC Copenhagen. However, Nadiem Amiri had to fill in for him on the right side on short notice. Frimpong was missing due to sickness, according to the Bundesliga club's Twitter account.

Frimpong was "a bit ailing," according to head coach Xabi Alonso. The former Celtic defender will be ready again on January 22nd against Gladbach.

Jeremie Frimpong has made 15 appearances, scored five goals, and assisted two for Bayer Leverkusen in the Germany Bundesliga this season. He joined the Bundesliga club on 27th January 2021 from Celtic on a four-year deal.

Frimpong 22, was part of the Netherlands team that was knocked out by Argentina in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
