Jese Rodriguez Says Jose Mourinho Had 'No Sympathy' During His Time at Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid winger Jese Rodriguez has claimed that Jose Mourinho had "no sympathy" during his time at the club.

The Portuguese coach opted not to promote the player to the first team after an impressive spell with the reserve side Castilla.

Jese reacted angrily, publicly commenting on the matter, but has revealed that he has no regrets about the situation.

"I do not regret it," he toldMarca."I am a sincere person and I always say what I think. Although sometimes it is not good when a person says things like that. At that moment I felt like that, I did not want to disrespect the fans or my teammates.

"I still say that Mourinho is a great coach but at that time there was no such sympathy or coach-player proximity to let me know his reasoning... I never regretted that, it was what I felt.

"Nothing ever happened. It was unintelligible, honestly. We talked very little, Mourinho was closer with other players, not so much with the youth team. He joked with me from time to time, but it was more [Aitor] Karanka who was close with us, he took over more of the work."

Jese is currently on loan at Las Palmas from PSG, but has refused to rule out a return to the French club under coach Unai Emery.

"When I arrived it was after my appendicitis and I was not well," he added. "It took me a few weeks to get back in the rhythm of things. I was still not very well.

"Unai told me that I could play some games but that it was best to go out to have more continuity and return in pre-season as strong as possible, and see then if I can play."
