Jimmy Cobblah not happy with Black Satellites performance in defeat to Niger

Ghana U-20 coach Jimmy Cobblah has expressed his frustration after his team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Niger in a friendly game in Niamey on Wednesday ahead of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

According to the experienced gaffer, the game was a good exercise for the lads but he expressed his concern about his team not winning after creating numerous chances.

“It is a good practice for us, it is a game we should have won, we scored a beautiful goal but the linesman disallowed it through the referee said it was a goal. They had two dubious penalties and scored all,” Cobblah told the Press.

“I have experienced this before, sometimes you lose your training games but goes to the tournament proper and win all your games. What happened today is surprising because we played well and I thought we were going to win.”

“I think we should be winning to give our people hope ahead of the tournament. We will keep on making corrections so that the cohesion will come,”

The Satellites will play two more friendly games before the Under 20 AFCON starts on February 2nd.

The two-time African Champions have been drawn in Group B with Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso.
