Ghanaian international Joel Fameye netted a consolation goal for his Orenburg FC side on Wednesday afternoon when they were defeated 4-1 by Zenit St. Petersburg.

The two clubs locked horns at the Gasprom Arena today for a date on Matchday 29 of the ongoing Russian Premier League season.

Having recently recovered from the Coronavirus, Joel Fameye was handed a starting role for Orenburg FC in the away game.

He finished off an impressive display with a fine goal that only mattered as a consolation goal for the visitors at the end of the 90 minutes.

An own goal by Andrey Malykh, plus a brace from Sardar Azmoun and an equalizer from Artem Dzyuba ensured that Zenit St. Petersburg cruised to an emphatic 4-1 victory.

This is Joel Fameye’s 20th appearance for Orenburg in the Russian Premier League this season. The former Ghana youth striker has managed to find the back of the net 7 times.
