John Antwi makes long awaited return to the Black Stars

Pyramids striker, John Antwi, has been called up by the senior national team coach CK Akonnor after being omitted since 2017.

The 28-year-old was last called to a World Cup qualifier against Uganda but did not have a real chance to show his predatory nature in front of goal.

Antwi has been dominant in the Egyptian league and recently netted his 100th goal in the competition. He is the first foreign player to do so in the league.

John has featured mostly in Egypt and has been unfortunate to be behind the likes of Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew, Abdul Majeed Waris among others in the pecking order.

The callup provides an opportunity he has barely had to prove his worth in the senior national team.
