Ghanaian striker John Antwi made a bright start to his career at FC Pyramids as he net a brace to help his side trash Etoile du Congo 4-1in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday.

The prolific attacker scored the opener under 12 minutes before his teammates Eric Traore doubled the lead with a swift goal three minutes later.

Antwi grabbed his second midway into the first half to give the Egyptians a convincing win before recess for Sébastien Desabre's side

However, Yan Mukumbu scored a consolation goal for the guests in the 89 minutes but that did not last long as Ahmed Ali striker a 92nd minute goal to give Pyramids a convincing victory ahead of the second leg.

Etoile du Congo will seek to overturn the deficit when they welcome FC Pyramids who are also targeting qualification to the next round on August 24.

Pyramids FC paid a staggering $1.5 million dollars to acquire the services of John Antwi from Misr El-Makassa.
