Joining Trabzonspor on loan was the righ decision - Caleb Ekuban

Ghanaian striker Caleb Ekuban believes he made the right decision to join Turkish side Trabzonspor from Leeds United on loan in the summer.

Ekuban, 24, has been in superb form since he joined the Black Sea Storm despite early turbulence in the European country.

The goal poacher has bagged three goals in 12 matches in the Super Lig this term, better than what he managed at Elland Road.

The former Partizan striker joined English side Leeds United amid high expectations following his impressive performance in Albania.

However, injuries conspired against the striker in England, frustrating his time at United.

Leeds were forced to send him on loan to Turkey on a season-long loan and the striker admits he made the right decision.

“The decision I made was the correct one”, Ekuban was quoted as saying by Turkish daily Sabah.

“I'm greatly valued at Trabzonspor.

“My [loan] contract ends at the end of the season, but the club do not want me to go.

“It's really good that I came to Trabzon.”

Trabzonspor are currently second in the Turkish league and are six points behind league leaders Basaksehir.

Ekuban is eligible to play for both Ghana and Italy at international level. On 12 July 2017, Ekuban revealed it is his intention to represent Ghana.

On 20 April 2018, Ekuban met with Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah.
