Jordan Ayew breaks goal-scoring drought with fine strike for Crystal Palace in draw against Southampton

Ghana international, Jordan Ayew ended his goal-scoring drought on Wednesday night when he scored for Crystal Palace in the team’s 2-2 draw against Southampton in the English Premier League.

Prior to today, the striker had failed to score for months in the English Premier League, leaving Ghanaians worried ahead of the 2021 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Today at Selhurst Park, Jordan Ayew who started the match scored in the second half to force the match to end in a 2-2 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

Before his goal, Southampton had the lead from the first half courtesy of goals from James Ward-Prowse and Armando Broja that had made Wilfried Zaha’s strike useless in the first half.

Today’s goal sees Jordan Ayew end a run of 44 matches in all competitions without a goal.

The strike is expected to give the player a massive confidence boost especially ahead of the upcoming 2021 AFCON.
