Ghana and Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew has heaped praises on his father, the legendary Abedi Pele as he stresses that he cannot thank his old man enough.

According to the former Olympic Marseille forward, his father has given him as well as his other brothers everything and they owe the players they have become to him.

“My dad has given us so much, in everything, and not only to me, to the whole family.

"The only way we can say thank you is to perform week in, week out for him to be proud and that's what we try to do”, Jordan Ayew said in an interview with Sky Sports.

The Black Stars asset also opened up on how his father helped shape him as a player as he emphasizes that he is lucky to have Abedi Pele as his father.

"He doesn't watch the games live because he's a bit too anxious, so they record them and he watches them afterward.

"Then, when he's finished, he briefs me a bit. If I've not done well, he tells me I've not done well. And if I have done well, he still tells me I've not done well.

"It drives me. I can't give my dad enough praise, really. He's unbelievable and I'm lucky to have a father who knows football”, Jordan concludes.

Abedi Pele, a former Black Stars captain is widely known in Africa and in Europe as well. He is a multiple Africa Player of the Year winner and a Champions League winner with Olympic Marseille.
