Jordan Ayew features for Crystal Palace in narrow home defeat to Burnley

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew featured for Crystal Palace this evening in the English Premier League when the side lost 1-0 at home to Burnley.

The two teams were in action at the Selhurst Park to honour a Matchday 32 fixture of the ongoing 2019/2020 English top-flight campaign.

Having earned a starting role from manager Roy Hodson, Jordan Ayew worked his socks off throughout the match and combined with his teammates to cause trouble in the opposition's half.

Despite a number of efforts, both teams went into the break without finding the back of the net.

In the second half, a hard-fought battle ended with Burnley winning by a goal to nil courtesy a strike from Ben Mee on the 62nd minute when he was assisted by Ashley Westwood.

The defeat leaves Crystal Palace sitting 10th on the standings of the English Premier League table but still with the chance of climbing up from the remaining matches of the season.

Jordan Ayew, 28, has made 31 appearances for the Eagles this season and has scored 9 goals. He has been outstanding for the London-based club and will be key for the side for the rest of the season.
