Ghana striker Jordan Ayew was given 18 minutes on his Swansea City debut as the Welsh side defeated defending EPL champions Leicester City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

The game was Ayew's first for Swansea since signing for the Swanson transfer deadline day.

He came on for Spanish forward Fernando Llorente in the 72nd minute with the Swans cruising 2-0 courtesy two first half goals by Alfie Mawson and Martin Olsson.

Swansea boss during the week assured that Ayew was ready to make his debut despite his exertions at the 2017 AFCON.

His compatriot Daniel Amartey also replaced rightback Danny Simpson in the 70th minute.

The result gave Swansea 24 points and lifted them to 15th place while Leicester City are in 17th place hovering just outside the relegation sone in 17th place.
