The English-born of Ghanaian descent was in action in Crystal Palace's 3-0 defeat against Manchester United on Tuesday in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Antony Martial handed the Eagles a 3-0 loss against the Red Devils.

Ayew who captained the team for the first time lauded the youngster describing him as a good player despite their elimination.

“Jes is a very good player. He’s a future talent and did well at Charlton [on loan last season]. David is a good young player," the 33-year-old told Palace TV.

“I’m happy for them that they’re having opportunities now – it’s for them to seize them," he added.

Jordan Ayew has also cautioned Manchester United ahead of their Premier League game this weekend at Old Trafford.

Palace have had an unconvincing start to the 2023/24 Premier League season, winning two of their six games. They have drawn two and lost the other two as well.
