During the game, the Black Stars striker was involved in a scuffle after committing an aggressive foul.

Amid shouts from fans expecting him to be carded, the matchday referee, Simon Hooper kept his cards in his pocket.

Speaking after the game, Everton podcaster and football scout, Ryan Williams expressed disappointment in the officiating, insisting that Jordan Ayew should have been carded.

“This is absurd. The refereeing is just completely one-sided at this point. Ayew with another aggressive play that was a foul, no call, no card, and then a foul on DCL,” he said.

Everton cruised past Crystal Palace to bag the maximum three points thanks to goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anthony Gordon, and Dwight McNeil.
