Manchester United will be missing a number of key players for the Monday night clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
According to a report byIndependent.ie,Jose Mourinho is expected to bewithout Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw for the vital upcoming fixture.
Mkhitaryan has beenbattlingfor full fitness since arriving at Old Trafford, and due to his current injury issues, Mourinho requested that he sit out of Armenia's latest World Cup qualifier against Romania.
Despite doing so, the former Borussia Dortmund talisman has been further hampered by a thigh injury which is set to keep him out of the match against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
Left back Luke Shaw is also a major doubt. He was not included in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia, with the England interim manager saying that Shaw "isn't quite back fit yet".
Phil Jones, who has not yet featured for United under Jose Mourinho, has been ruled out since September with a knee injury. His manager said that, prior to his side's Europa Leagueloss in Rotterdam against Feyenoord, that Jones had picked up knee ligament damage.
Mourinho now has the task of keeping the rest of his squad fit for the following week, during which his United side have three games in six days, starting with the Liverpool tie.
Meanwhile, Liverpool do have injury concerns of their own. Adam Lallana is still recovering from a groin problem, and Wijnaldum was forced off with a hamstring tweak in the Netherlands' match against France earlier this week.
