Joseph Aidoo misses out on Celta Vigo’s ‘Player of the Month’ award

Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo has missed out on picking up the award as Celta Vigo’s play of the Month for October after he was beaten to the award by goalkeeper Rubén Blanco.

This is the second time the shot-stopper has won the award this season after establishing himself as the club’s top-performing player.

Tagged the Estrella Galicia Trophy, Rubén Blanco was nominated together with striker Iago Aspas as well as Araújo.

At the end of the voting, Blanco emerged as the winner with 48 percent of the votes ahead of Iago Aspas, who won 28 percent, and Néstor Araújo (24 percent).

Though Joseph Aidoo has equally been good in the past month, he fell short and could not get into the top 3 best players of Vigo for the month of October.

The last time the Black Stars man was nominated for the award, he came out second to goalkeeper Rubén Blanco in a closely contested affair.

If the center-back continues to show fine form, he will eventually win the ‘Player of the Month’ at Celta Vigo before the 2019/2020 campaign comes to a close.
