June AFCON is great for African Players outside the Continent - Jonathan Mensah

Black Stars and Columbus Crew defender Jonathan Mensah has described the decision by CAF to move the AFCON from January to June as great news for African players who ply their trade outside the Continent.

The former AshantiGold defender explained that, African players who turn up for the AFCON often lose their places in their various clubs.

"It is great news because, most often when you come to play the AFCON, you return to your club and notice you lost your place to another player due to your absence."

Mensah added that the increase in the number of teams from 16 to 24 to participate in the tournament will surely make it competitive. He spoke in Interview with Accra based Asempa FM

Jonathan Mensah has been an integral part of the Black Stars since 2009, helping the National Under 20 team win the World Cup in Egypt.
